Moving a Hard Drive from on computer to another, Will it require windows re-activation?
Recently I upgraded my computer that is running the Windows 7 RC and now it’s a pretty strong comp, Good CPU and Graphics. Unfortunately the family computer is no where near as good and is still running windows XP. What I was wonder is, if I take the hard drive entirely out of the family computer and then hook it up to my good comp, without the hard drive that has Windows 7 on it of course, Will it require me to re-activate windows? It’s a legal copy but it’s damn near 5 years old and I have absolutely no idea where the code is for it. (Basically swapping the hard drives).
sorry to inform you but no you wont because one hard drive has the information from one computer and it wont match the specs and all the other information to another computer you will need to reformat if you are installing a new hard drive completely.
I tried this one time too and it didn’t work all that hard work really crashed my computer so i never tried i just reformat and hit the hey!!
