Should I do a clean install or an in-place upgrade for Windows 7?
I bought my laptop in February 2009 with Vista Home Premium. I plan on upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium. I know a lot of people say you should always do a clean install, but is my computer new enough that an in-place upgrade would be ok? I don’t want any unknown problems from Vista being transferred over to Windows 7.
There is no need to do a clean install. A clean install is only necessary if you’re running Windows XP, which you aren’t. Since Microsoft has designed this as an upgrade, an in-place upgrade should have no problems, and will save you the headache of a clean install.
Hope this helps!
