Can the Windows 7 Upgrade disks do a custom/clean install?
Nobody at Microsoft can seem to answer this. Microsoft is selling upgrade disks for windows 7 at a discounted price and I want to know if those disks will allow for a clean install of vista as long as you have a product key or will it always need vista already installed on the hard drive? I don’t want to get the upgrade disks if I have to install vista and then another install for windows 7 on top of that if I ever need to reinstall the operating system.
With Vista the upgrade required you to actually have XP installed and validated. So it’s likely that Windows 7 will be the same.
