HP LaserJet 1020 won’t install on Windows 7 RTM?
I plugged the printer in , and it appeared as an “unspecified device” . I thought “ok , ill download the drivers myself” . And so i did . I ran the driver installation , and it got to this “EZ installer part” It said something like , driver detected please wait. And at the same time , a window popped up in the lower right corner of my screen saying that the new drivers were being installed . So i waited . After 10 seconds of waiting or so , it said that it could not be installed and the EZ installer just froze up. I clicked on the window to see what was going on and it said that Windows cannot find a driver . WTF ??? I tried running the app in windows vista compatibility mode but no dice there . help me please !
BTW , I tried uninstalling the drivers and then installing them again , but no luck there.William W. I AM USING WINDOWS 7 NOT VISTA.FFS learn to read…
At times HP you will get a glitch when using the printer software and you will need to uninstall and then reinstall
I recommend this procedure for that problem
Add/remove and remove all components for the printer
Now do a complete clean up with the HP level 4 driver removal utility tool
When done, reinstall the software
