windows 7 question!!?
I just bought a new laptop with windows 7 preinstalled with a bunch of garbage and I want to redo the whole thing, however I do not have a windows 7 cd but it came with a “Windows 7 Home Premium OA key”
my question is, if download a windows 7 of a torrent will I be able to use my key on the bottom of my laptop?
Yes, but torrent files have the possibility of having built in viruses or mods. These are bad your system and may cause Windows to mysteriously ‘not recognize’ the software to be genuine.
Even though you may not have physical recovery disks present, the manufacturer will usually have a software built in that allows people to create recovery disks. (The manufacturer will not leave you in the desert!) However, this will usually contain the “garbage” that came from the manufacturer.
The best way (other than buying a fresh copy) is to manually uninstall each program that you consider ‘garbage’. Sorry if takes you all day, but it is better than having your files stolen by malicious software.
Or you can buy a recovery disk from your manufacturer.
