How do i delete “Windows 7″ From Boot Choice?
Here’s my scenario:
I installed Windows 7 as a Trial thing and I’m done trying it.
I reformatted the Drive with Windows 7 in it-
but whenever i Reboot, It still gives me a choice between
-Earlier version of Windows ( this is my windows XP )
-Windows 7
Its kinda annoying since Windows 7 is its default option and it chooses Windows 7 by default after 30seconds.
So how do i delete that Windows 7 selection?
heres my “boot.ini”:
;
;Warning: Boot.ini is used on Windows XP and earlier operating systems.
;Warning: Use BCDEDIT.exe to modify Windows Vista boot options.
;
[boot loader]
timeout=0
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional” /fastdetect /TUTag=OCXGN7 /Kernel=TUKernel.exe
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional (TuneUp Backup)” /fastdetect /TUTag=OCXGN7-BAK
Use EasyBCD in Windows XP (not windows 7)
Windows 7 does not use a boot.ini, it use’s a BCD.
So install the freeware EasyBCD in XP and remove Windows 7 from the list, hope this helps =)
