When I buy a laptop with a free Windows 7 upgrade, is the upgrade permanent?
The CD thing or download thing they send to you, is it just for one year? Or forever on your computer?
It is permanent. The reason is because Windows 7 is being released in Oct. and Microsoft didn’t think it was fair for you to buy XP or Vista so soon before the release of 7 and then be forced to pay to upgrade. Thanks Microsoft!
