windows 7 licensing costs
PADS 3.5.1 and Windows 7?

I have a single seat license for PADs 3.5.1software for designing printer circuit boards and it runs fine on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. But it does not operate on Vista.

We also have two licensed seats for PADs 2005 where we are in the same situation.

Does anyone know if these will operate in the XP emulation mode on a machine running System 7? I know it should but I have also heard many older applications won’t.

I also know I can get an upgrade from Mentor Graphics. But in today’s economy an upgrade that costs north of $2500 isn’t going to happen considering the new version does not have any more features we need. And we have a huge library of schematics and board layouts we are not going to dump to change to something else.

Anyone else’s experience would be appreciated.
