Windows Xp and Yahoo Online Protection?
My problems seemed to start about the time I dowonloaded and installed Internet Explorer 7. I have had many problems, mostly asscociated with other login users. I have uninstalled 7.0 and the main problem that remains is with the other logon users on this computer. Specifically, Yahoo Online Protection is installed and works correctly with one login user. But, when I login using any other user (3) the software icon is visible in the sytem tray, but when I click on it and open it I get a message that the software is “not installed” I changed all acounts to “administrator” , created a “new user”, uninstalled, and reinstalled the software. NO SUCESS. Yahoo says: it is an operationg system problem. HP says: (since OS came pre-loaded) “do a non-destructive recovery”. Does anyone have any ideas short of that? One more thing, I do seem to get these pesky Internet Explorer Script Errors when opening some software using these suspect users.
Backup your data, then do a destructive recovery. I just upgraded my new HP laptop and IE7 fouled everything up. after 8 hours online chatting w/ tech support, I broke down and reinstalled from the restore disks I made when I opened the box (4 hours). basically, I lost one day setting up tmy software and copying my data b4 IE7 locked me out of the internet.
