Set-up network correctly.?
Hi, My non-profit just got a new laptop and I am having a problem setting it up with the network. I am a part-time IT Manager and they don’t want to pay $100 for a professional to come in and do it. My problem is, all the other computers say Opening network connections when they login and closing network connections when they logout. We have two network drives which I connected without a problem. But there are other network features that need to be put on this computer. I don’t know if it is a VPN or not. There is one computer we call a “Server” which has the network drives, router, and modem connected to it and that is where people connect to the computer via wi-fi. If it is a VPN, can I just type in the name of the “server” computer or do I need to know the IP address of that computer? Some computers connect with Windows XP. Some Windows Vista, and the newest one, Windows 7.
you need WEPKEY and SSID also the ip addy that the notebook should be looking for
you know if they were truely a NOT FOR PROFIT they would issue a receipt to the it person that they can use on their taxes to defer the payment (think Teen Challenge they don’t give you 1 penny for your car/truck they issue a receipt instead and it’s detucted from the over all
tax they would have to pay, it’s legal and teen challenge does not pay 1 penny to the seller/donater
and almost every worth whilke ITperson would take it causes it’s worth more then cash at tax time
