Is it possible for you to get caught using a illegal copy of windows 7 ?
My friend has an illegal copy of windows 7. He told me he got it of torrents. He has it and he updates it normally, and it has a “master Key”…OEM and it says windows is activated. It works fine and on the winver application, It says that it is licensed to My friend.
Is it possible to get caught?

Yes, it is possible to get caught through any number of ways.
If microsoft were so inclined, they could track him down through his IP address on the torrent, or check his IP address using the OEM key when he updates, et cetera. Of course, it’s easy if microsoft ever decides to do it, and statistically, it’s improbable that your friend will get caught, but the possibility is still there.
