Will upgrading windows 7 “starter” to “ultimate”, erase my files?
I bought a new “acer aspire netbook”, with a 1GB RAM, 1.66hz and 160GB HDD hard drive!!!
When i bought it, this week, it had windows 7 starter, which looks awfully like windows vista, but i want to upgrade it to windows 7 ultimate!!!
Will it upgrade without erasing my files on my PC???
YES ! If u perform a custom installation of Windows 7 Ultimate, then all your personal files would move in to a Folder named as windows.old in the C drive where the OS wud be loaded. But all ur applications wud be lost. But I am not sure whether u wud be able to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate from Windows 7 Starter. I dont want to giv u wrong information. Let other users answer for this question. But custom installation is the best option which is successful always !
