Can you upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate to Home Premium Windows 7 without losing info?
I’m using the RC of Windows 7 and its the ultimate version. I’d rather not buy that version when it comes out though, simply the Home Premium version. Can I simply install the new software without losing my stuff? Its not so much an upgrade but a downgrade
It will not be (officially) possible to upgrade (or downgrade) from an RC version to the release version, you will have to reinstall completely. This was the same for Beta -> RC (although some people found a ‘way’ of upgrading without completely reinstalling but it did break some things so be very careful).
