HP PC AMD X3 425 ($599,99) vs HP Pavillion Intel Quad Q8200 ($649,99)?
Hello, i am planning on buying a new PC on boxing day. As a college student, i will need it for both school work and gaming entertainment.
The HP PC AMD X3 425, comes with windows 7 , 1 tb HDD, 8 GB DDR3 ram and an ATI Radeon HD 4650 but only has 3 cores whereas the other one has 4.
The HP Pavillion has intel 2 quad Q8200, Only vista, 750 GB HDD, 8 gb DDR3 Ram, and ATI Radeon HD 4350.
Im a little mixed between the two. The PC with the X3 sounds amazing with the HDD and Windows 7 as well as a better graphics card, but I’m kind of turned off by the one less core.
Is this one less core going to affect me enough that i spend extra $50 on a quad core computer that doesnt have Windows 7? Will the one less core affect the performance of the pc?
thanks
BTW Games i play: WoW, Sims 3, Last Remnant
Hoping to play in the future: Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age
The Core 2 Quad will destroy the AMD X3 in terms of performance. And you can always upgrade the video card later on and go to Win7
Contrary to popular belief, the CPU is the MOST important thing for gaming, followed closely by the GPU.
